Most Important Packing Tips

When your business is upgrading and moving to a new space, you have a lot on your mind. The last thing you need to do is spend hours researching the best packing methods then worrying that you will still break things during the move. Luckily for you, this article has everything you need to know about packing up the belongings in your business.

Use Corrugated Cardboard

If you don't already have corrugated cardboard packaging, it is worth paying a little money to get those packaging containers. Corrugated cardboard is a higher level of packaging and provides a more durable, protective, and cost-effective way of packaging your items. Corrugated boxes are not just cardboard; they are tools that are constantly being improved. They have a superior strength to weight ratio; in fact, corrugated cardboard is even designed with computer programs to make sure that it can best do its job. These boxes are even made from recycled materials. Last of all, the cost for these strong corrugated boxes is low, which means that it really is the best option for you.

Organize

Consider color coding the boxes you have for each person's office. Each office can be a different color. This way, if you are having a company help you with the move, they will be able to easily distinguish each box and where it needs to go. You can even make a small chart of the new office space and place one of the colored labels in each room. This chart can be used for reference by you or by the company that is helping you.

Pack Appliances Correctly

If you are packaging a lamp, make sure that you remove the lampshade and lightbulb first. Then, carefully wrap the base in newspaper or bubble wrap. If the staff comes apart, then feel free to take it down into pieces. The lightbulb should be wrapped carefully, and the lampshade should be placed in a corrugated cardboard box that is closest to its measurements so that it does not rattle around. If it is a glass lampshade, then you must carefully wrap it in bubble wrap as you would regular glassware.

As for refrigerators, you should remove all food. Clean the fridge thoroughly before packaging it. If there is still a funny smell, then try leaving an open box of baking soda to absorb the smell. You should disconnect the icemaker from the water line and drain it a day before you move. You can drain it again the day you move. Make sure that the electrical cord is taped to the back of the refrigerator.

About Me

Buying a business with your old boss

My old boss and I were made redundant from our jobs at the same time. We were a bit sad about the idea of not working together, but then we realised that we would be able to work together if we used our redundancy payments to buy a business. We were both really good at our jobs and loved working together so it just made sense to team up. We built our business up slowly but surely and now we make more money than we ever did in our old jobs. This blog has some of the information I wished I had before I started the business, like tips on how to set up your business administration processes.
